Art is man's nature; nature is God's art.
Philip James Bailey
What are ye orbs?
The words of God?
the Scriptures of the skies?

When, like an Emir of tyrannic power,
Sirius appears, and on the horizon black
Bids countless stars pursue their mighty track.

For my part, I know nothing with any certainty,
but the sight of the stars makes me dream in the same
simple way as I dream about the black dots representing
towns and villages on a map.
Vincent van Gogh,
in a letter to his brother Theo,
Wide are the meadows of night
And daisies are shining there,
Tossing their lovely dews,
Lustrous and fair;
And through these sweet fields go,
Wanderers amid the stars—
Venus, Mercury, Uranus, Neptune,
Saturn, Jupiter, Mars.
Walter De La Mare,
The Wanderers.

also called Alpha Virginis,
brightest star in the zodiacal constellation Virgo "
"First, in this prayer of mine, I give the place of highest honor among the gods to the first prophet, Gaia; and after her to Themis, for she was the second to take this oracular seat of her mother, as legend tells. And in the third allotment, with Themis' consent and not by force, another Titan, child of Gaia, Phoebe, took her seat here. She gave it as a birthday gift to Phoebus (Apollo), who has his name from Phoebe."
Pythian priestess.
Aeschylus, Eumenides 1.

approchant Spica;
lait toile prince si pâle
de la constellation de la Vierge!
