Paulus Potter
(1625- 1654)
Paulus Potter is celebrated chiefly for his paintings of animals.
Animals appear prominently in all of Potter's works, sometimes singly but usually in small groups silhouetted against the sky, or in greater numbers with peasant figures and rustic buildings in an extensive landscape.
His huge life-size painting of the bull is his most celebrated and in his living days more famous then the nightwatch of Rembrandt.

"1001 SACRED NIGHT ANIMALS" By AYŞEGÜL YEŞİLNİL
"You are watching Painter and Jazz Singer Ayşegül Yeşilnil's " 1001 Sacred Night Animals" paintings.
Also you are listening her song " Spring Prayer" who performed by herself ."
-------------------
"1001 SACRED NIGHT ANIMALS"
"Through the history of the civilization, primitive communities, nations and tribes, basically “humankind” gave meanings to animals.
Belief is very important for people. The beliefs have been decorated with folk tales, legends and mythology caused them to grow and enrich in time. Many communities’ beliefs existed with sacred animals. These sacred animals were believed to bring luck, fortune and also believed that they were protective and they possessed supernatural powers. They were symbols of many things like they were universal and their descriptions matched very well to the supernatural world. These descriptions were sometimes half man and half animal, sometimes a mixture of different animals and sometimes the animal itself.
They are the protectors that are immortal in tales, legends and in our dreams that we know and believe. Through the imagery time voyage, they have become jewelry, sculpture and many more figures like that where they entered into our homes, temples, places and our dreams. They are in our childhoods once we had and forgotten, in our afternoon sleeps that we were forced upon us, and in our most sweet sleeps at night. Anything, everything and being anywhere is possible with them such as, if we want we can go to the mountains to see what is behind a mountain; or we can go to the 7 depths of the ground or to the oceans. The animals can take us there and the only thing that we have to do is just simply want to go. Unlike us, they never ask for anything or ask us where we are going. They never ask your credit card number, your real estate list if you have one or your mother’s maiden name to be in your dreams because to ask these kinds of questions about such notions for them is a nightmare and shameful thing to do. They are unconditional, mystical, dignified, noble, and they convey hope and happiness. They are SACRED.
For a long time at night, I had my little inspiration fairies come at my workshop window continuously to deliver the stories of the animals while the city falls into deep sleep. Even though they were getting tired they still brought the stories to me with happiness and joy night after night. My fairies’ wings symbolized “God”, poverty, health, virtue, luck, and goodness that can bring tears to a heart and make that cold heart beat again. They are my surreal and extraordinary confidants. They sometimes brought stories from the heaven like the never ending dreams of Sehrazat in the 1001 night tales. Because of them my 1001 Sacred Night Animals will live and exist forever.
Now, they are here glided from the clouds to earth with their magnificence, beauty, glitter, innocence, virtue, fortune, charm, luck and sacredness all together for a short while just for your eyes to see."
